healthcareChallenge:

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 46.6 million Americans lacked vital health insurance last year. Public or Government-Sponsored programs lead to long wait times and a drastic reduction in the quality of care.

Solution:

To reduce the number of uninsured individuals, I will work tirelessly to lower taxes to enable more individuals and families to afford better healthcare. I am also strongly committed to the president’s plan to give a tax deduction for healthcare costs – similar to the tax deduction for dependent children.

I believe that you should decide which healthcare plan best meets your personal and family needs. You and your doctor are the experts - the government should not impose another layer of bureaucracy upon your health.

I will also work closely with my constituents, healthcare providers, and state lawmakers to identify and fill other gaps in Pennsylvania’s system so that quality healthcare is accessible and affordable for everyone.

Challenge:

Medical professionals are leaving the state for other locations due to Pennsylvania’s high cost of medical liability insurance.

Solution:

I will support legislation that ensures health care providers receive fair and reasonable reimbursement in order to maintain quality and accessible health care. I will also work with state legislators to reform medical liability regulations to ensure Pennsylvania’s system improves A competitive market place will enable us to guarantee the highest quality healthcare at the lowest possible costs.

Challenge:

Medicare needs to be simplified. The system is too complicated and is an example of a government bureaucracy run amok.

Solution:

I will work to ensure that Medicare beneficiaries have easy access to quality health care services and affordable prescription drugs. The system should work for the patient; the patient should not work for the system! Working with private businesses, to streamline the paperwork filing process and move to a completely electronic system, I will make sure that the patient has a simplified role.
